Marvel has found the ideal actor to replace Thanos
Difficult to pass after him. Thanos, portrayed onscreen by Josh Brolin in the early stages of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), was a worthy adversary to the Avengers. However, the latter was indeed defeated in Endgame, and we must therefore find a replacement for him.
The Disney studio has thus set its sights on Kang the Conqueror, who we have already seen at work in the series. Loki. This villain is perfect because he has the ability to time travel and visit the various multiverses. He therefore knows each of the superheroes and has even beaten them in other timelines.
“He is a phenomenal actor”
It is Jonathan Majors who plays this character on the screen. For the time being, the general public has seen him very little in action, but his debut is quite promising. We will find it in full light in the film Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which will be released on February 15, 2023 in French cinemas.
And precisely, in an interview granted to Comicbook.com, Brian Gay, the person in charge of the creation of this feature film, spoke about the talents of actors of the American. The least we can say is that he is enthusiastic:
Jonathan is a phenomenal actor who arrives prepared and thoughtful. (…) I can’t wait for everyone to see the incredible work he has done. I think he has an amazing presence in the MCU. And when he comes on stage, you know Kang is there. He gives that embodiment and gravitas that are so essential to this character.
Marvel is very clearly counting on Jonathan Majors. It will also be on the poster for Avengers 5, soberly titled The Kang Dynasty. Last July, Kevin Feige was full of praise for the new star of the saga: “ It’s really impressive what Jonathan Majors is able to do. And all the different versions of Kang that we’re going to see him do. (…) What I like is that he is totally different from Thanos. »
He added: “ Kang is a very atypical type of villain and the fact that he embodies so many characters is what is most empowering and what sets him apart the most. The public will very soon be able to judge for themselves if this new villain lives up to expectations.
To wait, the next MCU feature film to be released will be Black Panther: Wakanda Forever on November 9, and you can already watch the enticing trailer for this new component.
