At less than 500 euros from its cousin Mavic 3, the new Mavic 3 Classic is a bargain: 1,599 euros instead of 2,099 euros. Thank you DJI for removing the dual lens from its highest-end model to complete its line of consumer drones.
With one less eye, the brand will be able to offer the best of its technologies to a wider audience. The luxury, until now, was to be able to switch from a wide-angle camera to a telephoto lens thanks to a dual sensor module. Indispensable for everyone? Maybe not.
DJI realized that its best drone has other advantages, and decided to reduce the number of sensors to lower the entry ticket. The Mavic 3 Classic arrives a year after the other two versions. Upon discovering its characteristics, we immediately note that the device has retained the rest of its strengths. In three words: definition, performance and autonomy.
The arrival of the Mavic 3 Classic is also an opportunity to calm the frustrations born out of the release of the Mavic 3. A year ago, the price difference with the previous generation was around 600 euros. The most complete of DJI drones is perhaps a little more light for its cameras but the main sensor is still as well defined and the device can also fly at an altitude of more than 6000 meters.
DJI Mavic 3 Classic Features and Price
5K, 120 fps in 4K, 200 fps in full HS… the 20 MP 4/3 sensor of the Mavic 3 Classic is mounted on a 12 mm lens (24 mm equivalent in full frame) noticeably well defined and powerful, to obtain wonderful photos and wonderful videos. Its light sensitivity ranges from ISO 100 to 6400, for shutter speeds of 1/8000 seconds to 8 seconds. In the range of DJI drone cameras, it is by far the most efficient and versatile, day or night.

On the engine side, it’s the same thing. The power of the Mavic 3 and Mavic 3 Cine is found in the Mavic 3 Classic. In terms of altitude of course (the Mavic 3 has already distinguished itself at the top of Everest), but also in terms of speed.
His speed is formidable. Take for example the Sport mode, with which the drone will be able to fly up to 69 km/h (19 meters per second). We are still far from an FPV drone, but the essential is there to be able to follow subjects such as cars, at good speed. Note that Mavic 3 Classic is equipped with ActiveTrack 5.0, with its new sensors for perfect subject tracking.
Last big point to note about autonomy. With nearly 10 minutes longer than the DJI Mini 3 Pro, the new Mavic 3 Classic can stay airborne on a single battery for 46 minutes. The consumption of the drone will vary depending on the weather conditions, but the device can still fly in winds up to 12 m/s.
To afford the new Mavic 3 Classic, you will have to pay at least 1,499 euros. At this price, the drone comes without remote control or charger, ideal for those who are already equipped with these accessories. The drone is compatible with all remote controllers, namely the existing DJI RC-N1, DJI RC and DJI RC Pro. Otherwise, you will have to pay 1,599 euros with RC-N1 radio control and charger.
The Fly More pack, with its two additional batteries, carrying bag, spare propellers and charging station costs 599 euros more, or 100 euros more than the Mavic 3 without a pack.
