Photocopier with ideas? The OneUI 5 update really looks a lot like iOS 16
Apple has always been a very influential brand given the success of its products – especially iPhones. And it’s not uncommon for amazing coincidences to happen to the competition after every product launch.
We have already seen, for example, Xiaomi launch a smartphone almost identical to the iPhone X shortly after its release. When Apple removed the audio jack from its smartphones, subsequent generations of Android smartphones almost all imitated it.
Was Samsung out of ideas when designing its OneUI 5 overlay?
And we saw the same thing happen, for example, when Apple removed the charger from iPhone boxes under the guise of eco-responsibility… That said, if the brand has also sometimes fallen into the same traps, Samsung has always been more cautious than others from this point of view.
It must be said that the brand is also very influential, and has demonstrated its ability to set trends. We can for example cite that of the curved screens that we find everywhere since the release of the first models with the suffix Edge.
Trend on which the manufacturer has since largely returned, including on the Galaxy S22. Nevertheless, it seems that the manufacturer has equipped itself with a real idea photocopier to design its latest OneUI 5 updates.
Indeed, it is difficult not to find in the manufacturer overlay many very characteristic elements of the iOS 16 operating system of the latest iPhone 14. It starts with the lock screen: we find the same idea of dynamic elements that can pass behind a subject automatically.
The wallpaper selection screen, and many aspects of the interface also have a lot in common with the iPhone 14 operating system. Of course, Samsung is not content, however, to borrow ideas. The manufacturer goes further than Apple. For example, in addition to static wallpapers, it is now possible to choose short videos.
But obviously, we say that it would not miss any more that Samsung adds the Dynamic Island functionality so that the two operating systems become difficult to differentiate. Dynamic Island, which can also be installed via a third-party application, on all S22s and smartphones with a punch for the selfie sensor.
For those interested, several tutorials are already available. The procedure is simple: all you have to do is download an application (Dynamic Spot) from the Play Store, authorize all or some of your apps to appear there, and you will then have a Samsung brand “iPhone” in your hands. and under Android 13.
