Launched in France at the beginning of 2020, the Disney+ video streaming platform makes it possible to find a lot of content stamped Star Wars, National Geographic or even Marvel, without forgetting of course the animated films signed Pixar… and Disney content! A godsend therefore for all those who appreciate “modern” content, and/or who also wish to (re)watch the great classics such as Aladdin, La Bande à Picsou, Tic & Tac, Myster Mask, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King…

Disney+: rising prices and a formula with advertising
A Disney+ whose subscription is fixed in France at the monthly price of €8.99. Remember, however, that if Disney + only offers a single subscription plan (unlike Netflix for example), it is however possible to benefit from some special offers, to take advantage of the platform at a reduced price. This weekend, the group with big ears formalized an increase in its prices from December 8, starting with the United States.
On this date, the price of the monthly subscription will therefore increase from 7.99 dollars to 10.99 dollars. An increase of 3 dollars per month therefore, which will allow the user… to continue to use Disney+ without the slightest change compared to its current offer. Indeed, in parallel with this price increase, Disney will launch a new subscription formula, containing advertising.
An initiative similar to that launched very recently by Netflix, which allows you to take advantage of a “reduced” price, provided you agree to see advertising on the screen. At Disney, this new offer will be launched in the United States next month, at the price of the current subscription, namely 7.99 dollars/month. In other words, those who wish to enjoy a Disney+ devoid of any form of advertising (as is currently the case) will soon have to agree to pay no less than 11 dollars each month.
Note that subscribers to the offer “Disney+ With Ads” will also lose some features, such as SharePlay and GroupWatch. It remains to be seen now whether this new offer will also be accompanied by other changes, particularly with regard to viewing quality. Currently, the platform offers content in Full HD, 4K, not to mention support for HDR10, Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced (for the 1.90: 1 ratio).
The good news is that this price increase does not yet concern France. In the country, we therefore keep a single offer, with a monthly subscription offered at €8.99. It is possible to save a few precious euros by going through the annual subscription, which is displayed at €89.90. The new Disney+ offers should nevertheless arrive with us in the course of 2023.
