what is this new Netflix movie that makes fun of Elon Musk?
Netflix is preparing to strike a blow with Glass Onion: a story at loggerheads which will be released on December 23. This thriller, signed by filmmaker Rian Johnson, is the sequel to the film At loggerheads released in 2019 on the streaming platform. This new part has a very solid cast with stars such as Daniel Craig, Edward Norton, or even Kate Hudson.
A mix of Elon Musk and Steve Jobs in Glass Onion?
While a trailer has already aroused our curiosity, the first broadcasts have been organized, notably during the Toronto festival last September. Among the observers who had the chance to attend, many wonder if Elon Musk did not inspire one of the characters of Glass Onion.
While Benoît Blanc, alias Daniel Craig, is investigating a mysterious murder committed on a private Greek island belonging to Tech billionaire Miles Bron, he meets this curious character played by Edward Norton.
Mashable believes that Bron is a “odious billionaire whose character is a scathing and stupid satire of Elon Musk. A self-proclaimed genius, Bron loves to subject his friends, whom he affectionately calls “disruptors,” to complicated games (like puzzle boxes) and a murder mystery night they’ll never forget. »
“Making fun of a particular person is not so relevant”
On his side, Vanity Fair believes that Miles Bron is “a mix of Elon Musk, Steve Jobs and other masters of the universe. » Asked about this, Edward Norton replied mischievously: “If you see similarities, it is surely not a coincidence. »
He adds : “But I also think the character of Miles is like that Carly Simon song that goes ‘you’re so pretentious, surely you think this song is about you’, and I think a lot of (tech billionaires) will think that’s about them. And it’s very good”
As for Rian Johnson, he prefers to kick into touch. For him, this character is not inspired by a single figure “because making fun of a particular person is not so relevant”. But he explained that the film is about “our relationship, as a company” to these billionaires that we love to hate because we would like them to invent really useful products.
We will soon verify it for ourselves. On your side, will you watch this new film on Netflix? Tell us in the comments.
