Elon Musk has spoken, Twitter Blue suspended until further notice
A few weeks ago, the “new” Twitter (under the Elon Musk era) rolled out a formula enriched with the Twitter Blue subscription. A new formula offered at 8 dollars per month, allowing access to various advantages, including the valuable certification. A blue badge absolutely identical to the one displayed next to personalities and other organizations, the only difference being displayed when the badge in question is clicked, Twitter then displaying if the account is certified because of its side “notable“, or if it is a paid certification.
Elon Musk delays the (re)deployment of Twitter Blue
A new system that (very) quickly led to major abuses, with a proliferation of fake certified accounts and fake news. Quickly, Twitter made the decision to suspend the new Blue formula, with a relaunch scheduled for November 29. But Twitter’s new kingpin, Elon Musk, has decided otherwise, and Twitter Blue is finally suspended until further notice.
Holding off relaunch of Blue Verified until there is high confidence of stopping impersonation.
Will probably use different color check for organizations than individuals.

We already know that Twitter Blue’s new formula will require accounts to be active for at least 90 days to qualify for certification, but Elon Musk wants to further refine the system. The latter indicates in particular that the program will “probably display a different color for organizations and individuals“.
For many users, this will not solve the problem of identity theft, the concern actually stemming from a single badge used for official and paid certifications. There are already many solutions that would allow Twitter to distinguish more clearly, and at first glance, a certified (or notorious) account from a Twitter Blue account. It would suffice, for example, to decline the certification badge in several colors…

At present, it seems that this solution (like so many others) has still not found favor in the eyes of Elon Musk. For a few days already, Twitter has been deploying a second “Official” verification badge, which is automatically positioned below the profile name of a certified account. This only concerns organizations and companies, and no one knows if this additional pastille will also be granted to personalities.
Still a little patience so to discover the new formula of Twitter Blue, but there is no doubt that things should still change in the coming days on the side of the blue bird platform. To see now if it will be for the better, or for the worse…
