Elon Musk has resolved his “misunderstanding” with Apple
The hatchet is buried between Elon Musk and Apple. At least that’s what we can conclude from a series of tweets published by the entrepreneur on his Twitter account. After having scrapped all week against the Tech giant, the billionaire indeed used a much more peaceful tone this Wednesday.
Elon Musk had a ‘good conversation’ with Tim Cook

He thus indicates that he had “a good talk” with Tim Cook during a meeting at Apple headquarters. He pursues : “Among other things, we have resolved the misunderstanding regarding Twitter’s potential removal from the App Store. Tim was clear that Apple never considered doing this”.
If Elon Musk has never really communicated on the problems encountered by the application, the former security officer of Twitter indicated that it had some problems during the reviews on the App Store in the past.
On the contrary, Elon Musk wanted to raise a very positive tone by posting a video showing the headquarters of the Cupertino company in another tweet, accompanied by a comment highlighting the beauty of Apple’s headquarters. For its part, the apple brand refused to comment on this meeting.
A lasting peace or a temporary ceasefire?
Be that as it may, these kindnesses do not completely make us forget the virulent criticisms addressed this week by Elon Musk. The Twitter boss had shared a meme, before deleting it, in which he promised to go to war against the 30% fee charged by Apple on each transaction made on its application store.
It’s unclear if that discussion resolved another big issue mentioned by the billionaire this week. Elon Musk indeed criticizes Apple for having stopped its advertisements on the social network. This is a huge concern for the platform, and according to US press reports, the tech giant had spent $48 million on advertising purchases in the first quarter of 2022 alone, or 4% of Twitter’s revenue.
The reasons for this stop are unknown, but it is possible that it is linked to the new moderation policy promoted by Elon Musk. The latter presents himself as a champion of freedom of expression, and he notably restored accounts belonging to very controversial personalities, such as Donald Trump and Kanye West. There is therefore no shortage of areas of friction between the two societies, and the coming weeks will show us whether it is a question of a return to temporary calm, or of a lasting peace.
