5 superhero movies we expect in 2023
2022 has not necessarily been a vintage up to par with Marvel and DC. While the public has been a little less numerous this year to go to dark rooms to see superhero films, the studios are pinning a lot of hopes on the year 2023. It must be said that several feature films will be worth probably a detour. Here are, in order, the five Marvel and DC productions that we are most looking forward to.
Guardians of the Galaxy 3: James Gunn’s Last
The loop will soon be closed. On May 3, 2023, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will indeed bring James Gunn’s trilogy to a close. While the director has just taken the helm of DC Comics, he is full of praise for this last part. We can therefore expect, as always, a soundtrack with little onions, a caustic humor, and a real chemistry between all these ultra popular characters.
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse: An Animation Gem
After their excellent Spider-Man: Next Generationthe Sony Pictures teams are back for Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. Anyone who enjoyed the first film visually won’t miss this sequel.
The character of Miles Morales, popularized in the Spider-Man video games, is particularly beloved by Spider-Man fans. There is even talk of a cameo from Tom Holland, which would not displease them either. Appointment is therefore already made on May 31, 2023 in French dark rooms.
Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania: the MCU must pull itself together
It’s the next big Marvel movie. On February 17, Ant-Man returns and he will face the new big bad of the MCU: Kang the Conqueror. The studio is playing big on this aspect because it has decided to bet on this character as a replacement for Thanos. While the public expresses a certain weariness with regard to this cinematographic universe, it will be necessary to convince and show that Marvel knows how to renew itself.
The Flash: the hero of DC Comics must find a place
Repeatedly postponed, the film The Flash will be released in theaters on June 23, 2023. It will feature actor Ezra Miller, who has been in the news lately through numerous news items. However, the DC Comics superhero is very popular with fans. Similarly, the first tests of the film seem to have pleased spectators a lot, which bodes well for the best.
Shazam! The Rage of the Gods must confirm a good impression
Shazam is clearly not DC Comics’ most popular superhero. However, the first film was generally satisfactory for the public. Without overdoing it, it was an entertaining Christmas feature that didn’t misrepresent the goods. David F. Sandberg will therefore be keen to confirm with this sequel which will be released on March 17, 2023 in France.
