It is an understatement to say that the public expects it. After three first parts, John Wick will be back for a new film on March 22 in France. This character, very well embodied by Keanu Reeves, has been able to create a community of fans over time. Most appreciate this endearing hero, and the incredible action scenes offered in these spectacular feature films.
What will Ballerina, the John Wick spin-off be about?
And as an illustration of the success of this franchise, the latter is now entitled to a spin-off film called Ballerina. This episode is directed by Len Wiseman, and it is above all centered on the story of the dancer who can be seen in John Wick: Parebellumplayed by Unity Phelan.
While at the last Comic-Con in Brazil, Keanu Reeves returned to the story of the film he is producing: “She’s a woman who’s been through a tough time and is looking for revenge. Someone killed his father. But who ? And so she must now understand her past. »
Whoever plays Neo in Matrix adds: “She lost her father when she was just a child, but she doesn’t know exactly what happened. Just that someone came to their house to shoot their father, who had a tattoo. And as we learned in John Wick, if you have a tattoo, something is afoot.”.
What casting for Ballerina?
The distribution of the film looks promising, to say the least. We will find Keanu Reeves in the skin of the hero as he confirmed in this same conference. He will be on screen “in some scenes”, he says. And the star to promise: “Filming is happening right now, and the script is great, the story is fun. I can’t wait to see the result”.
At his side, we find Ana de Armas who has become one of the most bankable figures in American cinema. Featured in the latest James Bond: Die little waitwe have also seen it in At daggers drawns, or War Dogs.
In addition to this shock duo, Ballerina will rely on actors who have already proven themselves, such as Anjelica Huston and Ian McShane. The latter is already well known to fans of John Wick, and he still plays Winston, the manager of the Continental Hotel in New York.
Very clearly, Ballerina seems to be on very good track. It’s far too early to consider a release date, but filming has already started, so we should have more information soon.
