what’s new for January 2023?
While we only have a few days left before saying goodbye to 2022 and hello to 2023, SVODs are already lifting the veil on the films and series that are added to their respective catalogs. Whether it’s on Netflix, Prime Video or Disney+, we’re starting the new year in style.
That ’90s Show (Netflix)
For the new year, Netflix invites us to Point Place. After the success of That ’70s Show, the platform rekindles the flame with the spin-off of this cult sitcom. To make the hearts of fans beat faster, most of the original actors are back, like Laura Prepon, Topher Grace or Kurtwood Smith and Debra Jo Rupp.
After having explored the 70s, direction the 90s. That ’90s ShowIt’s 1995 as Eric and Donna’s daughter visits her grandparents for the summer. The perfect opportunity to meet the new generation of Point Place. The twelve episodes of this spin-off arrive on Netflix from next January 19.
Hunters – Season 2 (Amazon Prime Video)
Worn by Al Pacino and Logan Lerman, Hunters offers a second and final season for 2023. We are in 1977 in the streets of New York when the Nazis are trying to establish a Fourth Reich. The Pale Blue Eye (Netflix)
A fan of thrillers and the 19th century? We have the movie for you. The Pale Blue Eye takes us to meet a seasoned detective who investigates strange murders within the American Military Academy at West Point. To elucidate these mysteries, he is helped by Edgar Allan Poe, before he was the world famous author that we know. In the casting? We find Christian Bale but also Harry Melling (Harry Potter). Verdict it next january 6.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Season 2 (Disney+)
The elite troop made up of experimental clones returns in a second season on Disney+. For fans of Star Wars and animation, The Bad Batch is the perfect series. In this new episode salvo, the Bad Batch squad has their work cut out for them as they embark on a series of commando missions that will take them into uncharted territory. It is to be found from January 4, 2023 on Disney+.

For those who want thrill, Maniac by Junji Ito is the ideal program. The artist is recognized as THE master of horror manga and his best works are entitled to an adaptation in this macabre anthology. Vikings: Valhalla – Season 2 (Netflix)
Finally, last stop: Valhalla. After the success of vikingsNetflix is offering a spin-off of the series to fans with Vikings: Valhalla. The first season was released last February and the success was there. New episodes are available from January 8, 2023. This spin-off takes us a century after the events of the initial series, to meet the most famous Vikings in history such as Leif Erikson or William the Conqueror.
