1. “Breathe for us”, 2017

Young people who set off on a trip on a luxury yacht find themselves at the epicenter of one of the most powerful hurricanes in the history of the planet. The difficulties the heroes face change their lives forever.
The plot of the catastrophe melodrama is based on the real story of lovers who find themselves in a similar situation. The girl, played by Shailene Woody, actually spent 41 days in the open ocean before she was rescued.
3. “Invisible woman”, 2013
The British melodrama by Ralph Fiennes is also based on real events. The plot of the film focuses on the romantic relationship between writer Charles Dickens and actress Ellen Ternan.
The drama of their love story is added by the fact that at the time of meeting 18-year-old Ellen Dickens was already 45 years old and he managed to start a family. However, this did not stop the lovers from staying in a relationship for 13 years.
4. “Loving”, 2016
The love drama by Jeff Nichols, nominated for Oscar and Palme d’Or, tells about the life of American Richard and his African-American lover Mildred. The hero acquires land so that his future wife can raise the children in their own home in a picturesque corner of Virginia.
But the happy couple’s plans undermine state laws against miscegenation. When Richard and Mildred try to cheat the system, they are sentenced to prison. But even this cannot destroy their love.
5. “Young Victoria”, 2009
This biopic directed by Jean-Marc tells the story of the youth and coming of age of Queen Victoria of Britain and her marriage to Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. From the film, the viewer learns that at first Albert was only interested in marrying Victoria for political reasons, but later he really fell in love with her.
Interestingly, in this love drama, you can find details of the life of the royal family, which are often mentioned even today. For example, Queen Victoria was the first woman in history to wear a white outfit to a wedding ceremony.
6. Bonnie and Clyde, 1967

7. “Manolete”, 2008
The melodramatic film by Menno Meyes is based on the life of the matador Manuel Rodriguez, known as Manolete.

8. Forbidden Love, 2008
The feature film by John Maybury, starring Keira Knightley and Cillian Murphy, is based on real events that happened in the summer of 1945 in the life of the poet Dylan Thomas, his wife Caitlin and their children.
